The Year of the Eucharist ….
Eucharistic Adoration. Friday 7.30pm
There will be a special “Inauguration Mass” on Friday 10th June at 7.30pm followed by exposition and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament to launch the “Perpetual Adoration” which will start on Monday 13th June after 10am Mass; also on Wednesday and Friday until 9pm.
This will be a tremendous privilege for our parish to have not only the church open but the Blessed Sacrament on the altar for adoration and petition. Those who volunteered to spend an hour before the Blessed Sacrament have/will be given their allocated hour and invite to the mass on Friday.
Corpus Christi Procession
Well done to all who took part in the mass and procession last Sunday after the 12.30 Mass. By all reports a good afternoon was had by all. The good weather on the day was also a very helpful factor. The Lord was smiling down on the venture.

Be Not afraid
This week, as thousands of Irish students face the last few days before their Leaving and Junior Cert exams, wristbands will be on sale, throughout the country, encouraging them, in the words of Pope John Paul II, "Be Not Afraid". The idea for the project was that of 16 year old transition year student Daniel Philbin Bowman.
Proceeds from the sale of the bands will go to the Turning the Tide of Suicide Group and the Irish Red Cross for their work in Darfur, Sudan.
Daniel was inspired with the idea while watching the coverage of Pope John Paul’s illness and death. He approached the Archbishop Martin, who immediately gave his backing to the project.
Archbishop Martin said he was delighted to give his backing to the project. He said “Our young people need confidence to face the many pressures in their lives and to respond to current issues with vision and courage.” He said he hoped the message on the wristbands would make a difference in empowering people to take action when faced with difficult circumstances.
The bands are available on your way out from Mass this weekend or in the church shop. |
