Twenty Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time
Sunday, 19th September, 2004

Questions people ask
Q. Is there a difference between being tested and being tempted?
A. Temptation comes from the devil who tries to lead us astray. Testing is allowed by God to lead us to a deeper faith and trust. God wishes to stretch us to help us reach our potential. It is like a trainer pushing a team through demanding training sessions in order to push higher their fitness levels. Suffering is the great school of testing. Our faith is stronger when it has been tried and tested..

Young Church - thoughts for our young
'Honest and right living'
Today's Gospel spells out how important it is for each of us to learn to be honest and just in what we say and do right from the moment we first learn to walk and talk, all through life, until we die.
To be less than honest is short sighted because sooner or later a dishonest person is found out. Imagine how painful that must be. Think how sad and hurt God is when a person is dishonest.
Greedy people make money their god, and are unwilling to share, not only their money, but their time, toys (and other things), food and clothes with others who have less regardless of the colour of their skin.
Activity: Make a checklist of how to work hard at the right things. How does your list fit the rule of love: Love God and Love One Another?
