Fourth Sunday of Lent
Sunday, 30th March, 2003

Mother's Day
Today is Mother's Day, a day when we should all thank God for our mothers. We take this opportunity to wish them a blessed and carefree day.
The Leprosy Mission
A sincere thank you to all who supported the church gate collection taken up last Sunday. (Apologies to those on Saturday night who missed out on a very informative talk). There are more brochures at the entrances to the church with details about the Leprosy Mission.
€1,725 was raised last Sunday. Well done.

Clocks go Forward
Don't forget that tonight (Saturday)/last night the clocks go forward one hour. This means there will be a longer stretch in the evenings, however for a while it will be darker in the mornings.

Bereavement Group
Anyone who has experienced a death in the family is invited to come along, Thursday, 3rd April @ 8pm in Parish Centre.
Lenten Garden
Have a look at the Lenten garden on the Sanctuary area with a different focus/theme each week.
Liturgy Meeting
Meeting will take place on Wednesday @4 pm, to prepare for the remaining Sundays of Lent and the Easter Ceremonies.
Lenten Morning Prayer
Mon - Fri morning at 9.45am. Sat after Mass (10.30).
Lenten House Groups:
Collect your leaflets on Monday for all your group members. These are guides for reflection & discussion.
Learn to Meditate During Lent!
Each Monday 8.15 - 9.15pm in the Council Room (back of Church) led by Fr Roy.
Meet & Train (Ladies mini-marathon)
The official training begins on Tuesday April 1st. Meet at the Parish Centre @ 8pm. Route will be posted there.
Boys First Confession
The boys from second class in Mary Queen of Angels school will be celebrating their first confession this Tuesday (1st April) @ 8pm in St Matthew's Church.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
Every Friday from 10.30 until 7.30pm.
Children's Mass
Practice this Thursday @ 3.30pm.
Altar Servers
All servers invited to meeting on Tuesday @ 6.45pm re preparing/training for Easter Ceremonies next month.
First Friday
Every First Friday we remember the 'Altar list of the Dead' at both morning and evening Mass. Confession will be available on Thursday after morning and evening Mass.
First Saturday Devotions
In honour of Our Lady of Fatima at the 10am Mass (Saturday)
Sick or Housebound & would like a visit
Let us know their names and we'll try to organise a visit either in hospital or at home. There is a book in the sacristy where their name and address can be put down.
Marriage Enrichment Day - Saturday April 5th
Aimed at couples who would like to take time out to celebrate and enrich their relationship. This is an opportunity to take time to be with each other and talk about your dreams, hopes and expectations for your relationship. The day will conclude with Mass and Renewal of Marriage Vows. The Parish Centre, Church of Divine Mercy, Balgaddy, 10.30am to 5.30pm.

BreastCheck
BreastCheck, the National Breast Screening Programme, has began offering free breast X-rays (mammograms) to women aged 50-64 in the Ballyfermot, Chapelizod, Palmerstown (etc West Dublin), areas. This will continue until July. Women aged 50 to 64 will receive an appointment by post to attend the Mobile Unit which is situated at the Co. Council Offices across from the Mill Shopping Centre, Clondalkin. Should you have any queries or would like to check if your name is on the BreastCheck register, please freephone 1800 4545 55.
Coombe Hospital
The Coombe Hospital have organised a Memorial Service for Parents whose babies have died within the last year, before or around the time of birth. This will take place in Dolphin's Barn Church on Sunday 6th April @ 3pm. Refreshments after in the Conference Centre of the Coombe Women's Hospital.
Liam Lawton Concert in aid of Self Help
Fr Liam Lawton and his music ensemble Lorica will present a concert in the National Concert Hall on Monday 7th April at 8.00pm. In aid of SELF HELP, the organisation currently working in Famine relief projects in Eritrea and Ethopia. It will presented by RTE's Mary Kennedy. Tickets @ €20 are available from the National Concert Hall (01) 4170000.
Gospel Choir in Cherry Orchard
Our thanks to those who organised the choir in our neighbouring parish last Monday night. All who attended had a good night and it was enriching to see other ways of giving praise to God for his gifts to the world.
