War
in Iraq
Much is being said about the war on TV, Radio & Newspapers.
One thing we can do is pray for a successful outcome and that
as few lives as possible will be lost. May we never be selfish
at the expense of our neighbour!
Questions
People Ask
Q. How do you explain the different ways Catholics
and Protestants have for numbering the commandments?
A. The bible does not number the commandments. In fact,
there are eleven 'thou shalt not' commandments, as seen in
today's First Reading at Mass. One tradition, followed by
Catholics, regards the forbidding the worship of graven images
as part of the first commandment: 'You shall have no gods
except me'. The other tradition regards this as a separate
commandment but, at the end of the list, this tradition makes
one out of the two 'thou shalt not covet' commandments.
