Baptism
This is one of the special sacraments welcoming people into the Catholic
Church. In Ireland and in Ballyfermot generally baptism takes place
for a little infant rather than adults that is often the case in different
cultures.
In St Matthew's we ask:
- That
at least two weeks notice is given.
- That
parents and god parents attend a pre-baptism meeting on the Wednesday
night previous to the day of Baptism.
- That
the Baptism takes place on the 1st or 3rd Sunday of each month
beginning at 3pm.
When the
booking is done in the sacristy in St. Matthew's a letter is handed
out with a form that can be filled in by the family in the days before
the Sunday to take out any hassle that might interrupt the celebrations.Click
here for a copy of the
letter that is sent.
