Baptism

This is one of the special sacraments welcoming people into the Catholic Church. In Ireland and in Ballyfermot generally baptism takes place for a little infant rather than adults that is often the case in different cultures.

In St Matthew's we ask:

That at least two weeks notice is given.
That parents and god parents attend a pre-baptism meeting on the Wednesday night previous to the day of Baptism.
That the Baptism takes place on the 1st or 3rd Sunday of each month beginning at 3pm.

When the booking is done in the sacristy in St. Matthew's a letter is handed out with a form that can be filled in by the family in the days before the Sunday to take out any hassle that might interrupt the celebrations.Click here for a copy of the letter that is sent.
